Dr Alice Araujo

Dr Alice Araujo

Alice Araujo holds a doctorate in Communication Studies with a focus on intercultural communication from the University of Kansas, USA. She taught full time at the university level in the United States for nearly 20 years and served as Associate Professor of Communication and chair of the Communication Department during her tenure at Mary Baldwin College in Virginia. Alice currently teaches Clinical Communication at St. George’s University of London Medical School at the University of Nicosia campus, Cyprus. She held several national offices at the National Communication Association (Washington, DC) and served as program reviewer for the Health Communication Section and the Disability Caucus, among others. Her current research interests include gender differences in the communication of empathy toward perceived adversarial groups, for which she received two grants from the National Institutes of Health; and intercultural communication issues in healthcare.
