An experienced professional with a 17 years experience in the Financial, Health Services and Academic Research sector as an Internal and External Auditor as a Consultant and as a Research Fellow. He holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Coventry and a Masters degree in Accounting (MAcc) from the University of Glasgow.
He has served as an Internal Auditor at the Central Securities Depository and consequently as the Internal Auditor of Hellenic Exchanges S.A (the mother company of Athens Stock Exchange). Moving on from internal audit to external audit he has served as an Auditor to the Hellenic Capital Market Committee for several years. During his professional career in the financial services sector he has developed specialist skills on risk based internal audits, forensic auditing techniques concerning financial crime and compliance issues for Stock Exchange listed companies and brokerage firms.He has also worked as a consultant for consulting companies that specialize at the Health Services Sector, offering his expertise on setting up and evaluating Internal Audit operations for clients including hospitals and other health care services organizations. Finally he participated on a number of research project at the field of health care management and evaluation as a research fellow at the University of Athens. George is married and has 2 children.
