
Karolina Photiades is 18 years old and is in the 7th form of the English School Nicosia. She is a member of the Cyprus National Ski Team since 2012. Currently a member of the pre-Olympic preparation squad for the Winter Olympics 2018 in PyeongChang, South Korea. She is the Top ranked Junior Female Skier in Cyprus in 2016. Represented Cyprus at The European Youth Olympics Festival (Vorarlberg and Liechtenstein) in 2015. Selected and honored by the Cyprus Olympic Committee as the best Pancyprian Junior Ski Athlete of year 2015. Karolina is also involved in Charity work through Vagoni Agapis and her School Club “We Care We Help”. She has participated in two Bi-Communal peace promoting initiatives (“Cyprus Friendship Program” in 2016 and “C.E.L.T. for Peace” in 2015) fostering trust and understanding between Turkish and Greek Cypriots. Karolina endorses the IICC vision and believes that cultivating compassionate care in the next caregivers generation will provide hope to the patients and sustenance to the healing process.
